Federico Guzman is a Spanish painter born in 1963 in Valencia. Considered one of the most influential contemporary artists in Spain, his work is distinguished by an expressive style and an innovative approach to painting.

After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia, Guzman quickly developed a highly personal pictorial language, blending influences from German Neo-Expressionism, Fauvism, and Lyrical Abstraction. His canvases are characterized by the use of vibrant colors, spontaneous brushstrokes, and broad, emotional gestures. Recurring themes in his work include the human figure, urban and industrial landscapes, and the exploration of the unconscious and psychological states.

Guzman seeks to visually translate the tensions, anxieties, and vital forces that permeate the human condition. Beyond oil painting, the artist also experiments with other mediums such as drawing, engraving, and sculpture, thus expanding the scope of his artistic expression.

His works have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in Spain, Europe, and Latin America, earning him international renown. Guzman notably received the prestigious National Prize for Visual Arts of Spain in 2010, confirming his status as a major artist on the contemporary Iberian scene.
