ERRO (1925-2005) was a French artist known for his painting style characterized by collage and the mixing of different visual elements.
His works are considered part of the Narrative Figuration movement, which emerged in France in the 1960s. Born Erró Gudmundsson in Iceland, he moved to France in the 1950s and adopted the pseudonym ERRO for his artistic career. His paintings often combine images from magazines, comics, advertisements, and other popular sources, which he assembles in a surreal and provocative manner.
ERRO is known for his energetic style and his ability to critically comment on consumer society, politics, and mass culture. His works are characterized by a blend of humor, satire, and references to current events, creating complex and intellectually stimulating compositions.
ERRO has had a prolific career with numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, consolidating his place among the important figures of contemporary French art.
