Julio Le Parc is an Argentinian artist and pioneer of kinetic and optical art. Born in 1928 in Mendoza, he is known for his interactive and participatory works that invite the viewer to an immersive visual experience.
From the 1950s onward, Le Parc explored the effects of movement and light on perception. His paintings, sculptures, and installations explored the possibilities of creating optical illusions and constantly evolving visual situations. The artist sought to challenge the passivity of the traditional viewer.
His works invite the public to interact, move around, and actively participate in creating the aesthetic experience. Julio Le Parc's creations often consist of mobile elements, plays of mirrors, and lighting that evolve according to the viewer's movements. This dynamic approach aims to stimulate curiosity and encourage a multisensory perception of art.
