Antonio Seguí is an Argentinian artist who has lived in France, Spain, Africa, and Central America. He humorously depicts the spectacle of urban life. The central theme of his work is above all humankind, and more specifically, modern man.
His realistic work lies between pop art and New Figuration. He represents, on multiple media, from painting to photography, from lithography to monumental sculpture, simplified figures in motion, in warm colors evoking the crowds of Latin America and the rhythm of its cities.
His works are part of the collections of over a hundred museums worldwide. In France, his works are featured at the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, as well as the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Orléans and Lyon. On February 26, 2022, Antonio Seguí died in Buenos Aires at the age of 88.
